STA Collaborates with Chiang Mai University Under MOU to Drive Knowledge Development, Research Innovation, and Sustainable Industrial Transformation

Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited (STA), led by Mr. Chalermpop Khanjan, Executive Director, participated in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Chiang Mai University, together with five leading industrial sectors. The collaboration aims to promote the development of knowledge, research, and innovation in alignment with STA’s commitment to conducting business based on sustainability principles and the core values of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). The partnership reinforces the company’s mission to create long‑term value for all stakeholders including farmers, local communities, customers, and consumers. The MOU focuses on advancing joint research, supporting training programs, and strengthening collaborative networks to address climate change challenges. It also emphasizes the transfer of technology and environmental innovations, as well as climate adaptation solutions, to be applied across business, government, and community sectors driving tangible and meaningful shared learning.

As part of the event, an industrial panel discussion titled “Innovations Toward Industrial Sustainability” was held. STA was represented by Dr. Saranthinee Mongkolrat, Sustainability Division Manager, who delivered a presentation on “Carbon‑Smart Natural Rubber: Turning Plantations into Long‑Term Carbon Sinks.” The session highlighted the critical role of natural rubber plantations in carbon sequestration and their contribution to advancing a more sustainable industrial future.
