Air Pollution Management

The Company focuses on management of air quality resulting from the production process, recognizing its potential impact on employees and communities surrounding the factory, particularly the odor from the block rubber factory. The Company has consequently developed a management and control plan for air quality inside and around the factory, regularly measuring and monitoring air quality to ensure compliance with legal standards.

Management Guidelines

Focus on managing air pollution at the source
  • The Company regularly sprays wood vinegar and biological deodorizers on cup lump stacks to reduce odors caused by organic degradation of cup lump raw materials.
  • The Company has built a building with a closed system to store rubber cup lump raw materials to prevent disturbing odors outside the factory.
Utilize air pollution control systems and technologies
  • The Company uses a Wet scrubber odor treatment system, a Deodorizer system, and a Bio-filter system to reduce odors from the rubber drying process and odors from the production of mixed rubber (Mixture). Currently, the Wet Scrubber system is being used in conjunction with the Bio-filter system in a total of 12 factories.
  • The Company uses the Multi-cyclone system and Wet scrubber system to treat the exhaust and small dust particles (PM10 and PM2.5) from boilers before being released into the atmosphere.
Measure and monitor
  • The Company installs wind measuring instruments for monitors, measures and assesses the risks of air pollution and odors that may occur in the surrounding communities in order to prevent risks and impacts.

Goal

No complaints
about air quality from the community.

Performance

In 2025, air quality complaints were received from 4 branches: Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited branches in Kalasin, Sakon Nakhon, Sa Kaeo, and Udon Thani. However, the Company has successfully resolved these issues. The Company has conducted studies on Biofilter systems, which can effectively reduce odor impacts from rubber drying operations. Currently, 14 rubber block factories in Thailand have installed and operate Biofilter systems at nearly all locations, with the exception of NHR factory, which utilizes a Wet Scrubber system, and HN factory, which is in the design phase to achieve optimal efficiency.

In 2025, Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited, Kalasin branch, has implemented a pilot odor treatment system within the raw material storage facility to enhance odor management efficiency to the highest level, with the system certified by professional engineers.

Odor Monitoring Solutions

The Company has conducted research and development of Electronic Nose (E-Nose) technology at rubber block manufacturing plants in Kalasin and Loei branches, with the objective of continuously monitoring and surveilling odor levels in various areas of the facilities. This is accomplished through the collection and analysis of odor data across different time periods, including comparison of correlations between odor values and operational activities and behaviors in each production process. The in-depth data obtained is utilized to assess trends, analyze root causes, and establish guidelines for developing odor management measures and reducing odor impacts effectively and sustainably.
