Sri Trang Agro-Industry Public Company Limited (STA) has officially announced its commitment to the “Science Based Target Initiative for Industrial Greenhouse Gas Reduction toward Net Zero (Phase 3)”, organized by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO) in collaboration with the Center of Excellence in Eco-Energy, Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University, at Pathumwan Princess Hotel, Bangkok.
STA joined 16 leading organizations in Thailand in declaring this commitment, reflecting a strong determination to implement science-based greenhouse gas reduction targets across its operations and supply chain. The company has set a target to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 23% by 2030, compared to the 2024 baseline, and aims to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050, in support of the global effort to limit temperature rise to 1.5°C. In addition, STA is strengthening the role of its rubber and teak plantations as “carbon sinks” for both the company and Thailand—serving not only as sources of high-quality raw materials but also as certified carbon credit assets. This initiative aligns with the company’s Net Zero roadmap and the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), which encourages stronger corporate climate action.
Participation in this initiative reflects STA’s vision to elevate its business toward becoming a low-carbon, fully integrated natural rubber business, balancing sustainable business growth with social and environmental responsibility, while contributing to Thailand’s transition toward a sustainable low-carbon society.
