Go Green Project : Restoring Blue Carbon towards Sustainability
The company has implemented the “Sri Trang Go Green: Restoring Blue Carbon for Sustainability” project to restore and conserve coastal ecosystems, mangrove forests, and seagrass beds. This aims to enhance carbon sequestration capacity, promote environmental knowledge and awareness among employees, strengthen environmental awareness among employees and the community, support business sector participation in environmental sustainability, and foster collaboration between organizations, government agencies, and civil society in resource conservation.
In 2025, the company planted 600 seagrass plants to directly increase Blue Carbon areas, which efficiently accelerates carbon absorption and storage, mitigating the long-term impacts of climate change and providing a food source and habitat for numerous animal species. A 4x4 meter enclosure was constructed, containing 50 seagrass plants. Each seagrass plant can sequester 113-141 grams of carbon (gC) or absorb 414-516 grams of carbon dioxide (gCO2 removal). Therefore, restoring seagrass through enclosures can sequester 5,650-7,050 grams of carbon (gC) or absorb 20,700-25,800 grams of carbon dioxide (gCO2 removal).
Waste Management and Pollution Reduction:
Over 323.6 kilograms of beach waste were collected to remove pollution that damages Blue Carbon sources and restore the environment so that the ecosystem can fully store carbon.
Biodiversity Restoration:
Over 7 million blue crab larvae were released into the wild to enhance the completeness of the food chain and the abundance of marine ecosystems, a key mechanism for conserving marine resources and promoting the sustainability of coastal communities.
